Prominent building evacuated due to quake risk

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Wellington News | Thursday May 31 2012 8:36

Another prominent central Wellington building has been evacuated due to earthquake risk.

ACC has moved out of its Wellington Branch on the corner of Taranaki and Wakefield Streets.

A formal report on the leased building is expected today, but a decision was made to vacate the building immediately yesterday after receiving verbal advice from engineers that it is earthquake-prone.

All meetings that would have been held there have been relocated to the ACC premises in the Vogel Building on Aitken Street.
