Victim support offered to Karori blaze witnesses

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Wellington News | Tuesday March 5 2013 9:31

Support is being offered to a number of Karori residents who tried in vain to save their neighbour from a fatal house fire.

One person died in the blaze in Woodhouse Avenue yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Donna Howard says neighbours heard screams for help, but were unable to get inside.

"Victim support have been contacted and are engaged with the witnesses and particularly what we believe are the family members."
