Wgtn event raising breast cancer awareness

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Wellington News | Friday October 12 2012 6:55

Wellington women are being urged to whip their bras off in the name of charity.

An event on the city's waterfront today will see hundreds of old bras made into the shape of the Breast Cancer Awareness logo.

Organiser Birgitte Lloyd says she's hoping the event will raise both awareness and funds for the cause.

"We'll have pink cupcakes, pink ribbons, the bracelets and everything available for donations to breast cancer as well."

Ms Lloyd says it's not too late for women to bring their bras down to the waterfront if they'd like to take part.
