Three car pile-up near Wellington

There's been a three car pile-up north of Wellington.

The accident happened just before 5pm on State Highway One, north of Paekakariki.

Inspector Ken Climo says everyone is now out of the crashed vehicles.

He says there are delays in the area and traffic is building up.

Mr Climo says police expect to be there for some time because lighting has been requested.

St John Ambulance team Abby says two people are being taken to Wellington Public Hospital.

One has minor injuries and the other has moderate injuries.
