Le Cordon Bleu classes begin in Wellington

By: Rebecca McKeown | Latest Wellington News | Monday October 8 2012 5:32

A sign that New Zealand's hospitality industry is going from strength to strength.

Classes begin at Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Wellington this morning and its director says restaurants around the country can't wait to employ its graduates.

Cath Hopkin says it's telling that many more local people applied than anticipated.

She says hospitality as a career is obviously "growing up" in New Zealand, and being seen as a serious profession.

Students starting at the academy this morning have come from as far away as Norway and Malaysia.
