Tilly will live on in Wellington's theatre industry

Friends of Wellington actor and artist Grant Tilly say he will live on through his work in the city's theatre industry.

His funeral will be held this afternoon at the St James Theatre.

The actor, best known nationally for his role in television series Gliding On, died on Tuesday from cancer.

He was 74.

Fellow actor and friend Ray Henwood expects more than a thousand people at today's funeral.
