Solid Energy has begun a staged resumption of underground operations at its Spring Creek Mine near Greymouth. Operations were put on hold three weeks ago after mines inspectors noted three safety incidents. Solid Energy's chief operating officer Barry Bragg says the company's now completed its own investigations and follow-up actions are now being undertaken. He says mine management has been meeting all staff to discuss health and safety expectations and the changes proposed to meet those expectations. He says full production will resume when they're satisfied the changes are effective. Photo: NZ Herald |
