By: Tyler Adams | Upper South Island News | Monday April 23 2012 13:50

Police have released the name of the man who was killed when the truck he was in went over a steep bank near Otira Gorge on the West Coast yesterday.

Danian Xu was a passenger in the truck with two other Chinese men who were taking restaurant supplies to Greymouth where they were due to open a restaurant.

The 49-year-old was a chef and had been in New Zealand for a short time on a work visa.
