Post mortem due over Kaikoura car fire

Post mortem results of a person who died in a car fire in Kaikoura are expected later today.

The blackened car was found yesterday on Kiwa Road with a body inside.

Police know who the occupant is and have informed next of kin.

Locals say it's a young Auckland surfer who'd been living in his car and lighting candles at night.
