Quake hits Timaru

By: Lesley Deverall | Upper South Island News | Thursday May 31 2012 11:40

It's been Timaru's turn for a jolt.

A 4.5 magnitude quake has shaken the town.

It was 30 kilometres deep and 30 kilometres west of Ashburton.

Karalyn Joyce was in a meeting when it struck at 10.27 and says it was quite shudder.

She says everyone stopped in fright and initially thought the violent shake was due to another big one in Christchurch.
