Two kayakers saved from Tukituki River

By: Sophie Lowery | Upper North Island News | Sunday August 19 2012 16:54

Two kayakers were pulled from the Tukituki River in Hawke's Bay today after being swept out towards the sea and capsizing.

A man and his young daughter were paddling in a double kayak, near the mouth of the river around lunchtime when their kayak tipped.

Napier police acting senior sergeant Mike Stevenson says they were not wearing life jackets at the time.
