Human error blamed for spread of Psa virus

By: Grayson Ottaway | Upper North Island News | Monday August 27 2012 7:42

The spread of the Psa virus to South Waikato appears to have been thanks to human error.

Kiwifruit Vine Health chief executive Barry O'Neil says last week's finding of the disease on an orchard in Te Awamutu was unusual.

He says the closest affected orchards were some distance away in Waihi and South Auckland and it's unlikely to have spread there naturally.

An investigation into the Waikato outbreak of the vine killing disease is continuing.
