A milk tanker has crashed into a powerpole and ploughed through a fence just south of Cambridge.

The incident happened just before 1pm on Roto o Rangi Road.

Emergency services are at the scene and have managed to extract the driver from the vehicle, which has tipped over onto its side.

He has extensive injuries to his legs.
