Investigation ongoing into Hamilton house fire

By: Jacob Brown | Upper North Island News | Monday August 27 2012 10:19

Police and fire teams are continuing their investigations into a Hamilton house fire which claimed the life of a 37-year-old woman.

Wai Tangi Matenga's body was found inside the Holland Road house on Wednesday after fire fighters doused a huge blaze.

It's being treated as a homicide.

Detective Senior Sergeant Nigel Keall says around 20 staff are working to find out how the woman lost her life.

Preliminary findings from a post mortem examination have come back, but police are still waiting for a final report from the pathologist.
