Kaitaia community leader faces sexual charges

A prominent community leader in Kaitaia faces a raft of sexual abuse charges.

The accused has name suppression and will appear in the District Court tomorrow facing a total of 43 charges of sexual assault on young boys.

They include 24 counts of indecent assault on a boys between 12 and 16 and 15 counts of indecent assault on boys aged under 12.
