Man faces charges after driving into house

By: Sophie Lowery | Upper North Island News | Wednesday April 25 2012 17:05

A man has faced dangerous driving charges after a police chase ended in his car smashing into an elderly woman's house in Gisborne.

Sergeant Lincoln Sycamore says a car carrying three people was pursued after it was seen travelling at speed on the wrong side of the road late last night.

Mr Sycamore says the pursuit ended when the car burst through the living room of a house on Palmerston Road just after midnight.

He says while the elderly owner of the house is shaken, none of the occupants of the car has serious injuries.

The driver of the car appeared in court today.
