The New Zealand Transport Agency is apologising for confusion over the planned Puhoi to Wellsford motorway, north of Auckland. Construction on the new motorway between Puhoi and Wellsford will cost nearly $1.8b and is due to start in 2014. A pamphlet released this week indicates the Warkworth to Wellsford section is now a 'possible' road of national significance. Chief executive Geoff Dangerfield says that's an error. He says an indicative route for the Warkworth to Wellsford section hasn't been announced so a dotted line was used. However, he says there are plans to upgrade the entire route and it is still a road of national significance. Photo: NZ Herald |
