Severe weather headed our way

| Lower South Island News | Wednesday August 8 2012 22:55

A severe weather warning's been issued for Marlborough, Canterbury and Otago.

Metservice says heavy rain is set to continue about the Kaikoura ranges overnight and tomorrow morning.

Up to 160 mm is expected in the mountains before easing tomorrow morning.

Rivers and steams will be running high, slips and surface flooding are possible, and driving conditions may be hazardous.

The warnings for the Canterbury foothills and North Otago however, have now been lifted.
