Otago region expected to prosper from test match

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Lower South Island News | Friday September 14 2012 9:39

The Otago Chamber of Commerce expects tomorrow night's test to be one of the largest money-makers for the region this year.

The All Blacks play South Africa in their first outing at the covered Forsyth Barr Stadium tomorrow night.

Chamber CEO John Christie says test matches in the past have generated close to $10 million for the city.

He says the number of outside visitors expected indicates a bumper weekend for Dunedin.

Mr Christie says he has no doubt the use of the covered stadium has contributed to the wide interest.
