Davies resigns as boss of Forsyth Barr Stadium

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Lower South Island News | Thursday May 3 2012 14:39

An emotional David Davies has officially announced his intentions to resign as boss of Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium.

Mr Davies was appointed CEO of Dunedin Venues Management Ltd in 2009 on an open-ended contract, following a global search costing the city council over $60,000.

But he says the time has come to head back to his home and family in England.

"I can tell you without any doubt about it the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to cuddle my daughters. I'm incredibly proud as a father and I haven't had enough time to cuddle them in the last two years. It's a family decision and if I have to go back without a job that's okay."

Mr Davies says he's going to stay in the role until March next year.
