Masterton man making significant improvement

By: Sam Thompson | Lower North Island News | Sunday May 6 2012 15:34

A 40-year old Masterton man admitted to Wellington Hospital with a head injury yesterday has made a significant improvement.

He was found unconscious on the footpath of an Essex Street property in Masterton and airlifted to Wellington.

Police say he regained consciousness overnight and has been talking to hospital staff, but they have not interviewed him yet.

Hospital staff are confident the man should make a full recovery and is likely to be discharged within days.

It's still unclear how he sustained his injuries.

Police are still interested in hearing from anyone in the area of Essex and Pownall Streets between 1:30am and 6:00am yesterday morning.
