Two teens critical after crash near Waipukurau

By: Sophie Lowery | Lower North Island News | Friday October 12 2012 12:41

Two teenagers are in a critical condition in Hawke's Bay Hospital following a crash in Waipukurau.

Police believe a 19-year-old woman lost control of her car just before midnight, causing it to slid off the road and roll several times.

Two passengers were thrown from the car.

Sergeant Clint Adamson says it appears speed and alcohol are factors in the crash and the car may have been racing another vehicle at the time.

Two boys aged 16 and 17 are in a critical condition and the driver has serious injuries.
