Mayor supporting community after Putorino crash

By: Sophie Lowery | Lower North Island News | Tuesday June 5 2012 11:07

Wairoa is preparing to support its small rural communities when they farewell four local men killed in a horror crash near Putorino.

Lou Wesley and James Raupita of Waihua, and Paul Parata and Jack Huata of Raupunga died after their four-wheel-drive crashed in a paddock in northern Hawke's Bay.

Wairoa's Mayor Les Probert says it's a small community and everyone will know someone who has lost a loved one.

Mr Probert says the families of the men are well known in the district.

Paul Parata's funeral service will be held on Friday and details for the others are yet to be released.
