With big events returning to Christchurch's social calendar there are fresh concerns over the lack of accommodation available. The earthquakes have seen a loss of nearly 1,100 beds in the city. Founder of the Look After Me home-stay network, Julia Charity may have a solution. "We're looking for Christchurch-based homeowners who've got a spare room. It could be that it's a sleepout, or a guest wing, or it could be a room downstairs, or a room upstairs - that's the sort of thing that's working really well." Ms Charity says it'll also provide security for those visitors worried about what to do in the event of an earthquake. Photo: NZ Herald |
