The success of the new AMI stadium in Christchurch is being applauded by the city's Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee. He says since the stadium launch in March, more than 200,000 tickets have been sold. Mr Brownlee says for a city of 380,000, it's a truly heartening response. He says the stadium's a multi-use venue with rugby union, including the All Blacks test, rugby league, football and now a summer concert being planned. Tickets for the concert on November the 3rd are being earned by people doing voluntary work in the city and Student Army Founder Sam Johnson's hoping to get 10,000 volunteers turning up for the gig. |
