Elderly man recovering from savage dog attack

By: Natasha Burling | Latest Christchurch News | Friday August 31 2012 16:40

An elderly Christchurch man is recovering in hospital after a savage attack by four dogs.

The incident happened on Monday morning in Holcombe Place in the suburb of Somerfield.

Ambulance and police were called to the aid of 78-year-old Frank Small when he was set upon by the dogs.

Southern police communications senior sergeant Greg van Tuinen says the dogs were secured in the laundry and Mr Small was taken to hospital.

He says police have sent reports to the Christchurch Council and the owners may be charged over the attack.
