Chch residents to speak up about facilities

| Latest Christchurch News | Wednesday April 11 2012 6:26

Christchurch residents are being encouraged to speak up and tell the city council what sporting facilities they want and where.

Council members are debating options for the city's 10 major assets.

Among them is AMI stadium, with Barry Corbett supporting a 30,000 seat covered stadium, and Aaron Keown calling for it to feature an embankment.

Another option for the recovery of the city's sport and recreation centres was also added - the reinstatement of Centennial Pool at its present location.

Deliberations on the city's draft annual plan will continue today.

It will then go out for public feedback with a period allocated for submissions, with a view to formally adopting the plan in late June.
