Union to keep a close eye on Canterbury's education

The primary teachers' union says it'll be casting a close eye over the roadmap for Canterbury's education sector.

The draft Education Renewal Recovery Programme was launched yesterday.

NZEI National President Ian Leckie says his group will be making sure the delivery of quality education is a priority over any fiscal or political considerations in the report.

He says children's education must be at the forefront of any changes made and now is not the time for radical experiments.
