Christchurch couple claims $5.5 million Powerball

| Latest Christchurch News | Monday April 16 2012 17:22

A Christchurch couple, who have been through a year of lows, have today claimed a $5.5 million Lotto Powerball prize.

The couple had been living in a red-zoned house for months with no toilet.

The woman says there was a lot of screeching and yelling when she checked, then re-checked her tickets on line last night.

She was terrified there'd be another earthquake so pinned the winning ticket to their headboard to make sure they could find it in an emergency.
