Implosion of building being auctioned

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Christchurch News | Tuesday July 24 2012 15:36

The contractor responsible for the implosion of Christchurch's Radio Network House has high hopes for large bids being placed for the rights to push the button.

The Trade Me auction has already reached over $6700, with the money raised going towards the rebuild of the Issac Theatre Royal.

Ceres Long Term Recovery Manager Bill Johnson says they're expecting a lot of interest

"We know there'll be a lot of visibility and a lot of attention on this. Maybe some companies will look at it as an advertising opportunity for them, not only to get some recognition for their company, but also again to support a very worthwhile effort."

View the auction on Tradme here.
