By: Alexia Russell | Latest Christchurch News | Monday September 3 2012 6:18

Christchurch police are worried about the welfare of a hitchhiker in the area and want to hear from anyone who may have seen her.

She was believed to have been at the Blenheim Road and Annex Road intersection in the city about 4pm yesterday, and may have also been in the Springston area later in the day.

She's believed to be heading to Akaroa.

The woman is Caucasian, aged 25, with shoulder length brown hair, and she was carrying an orange and blue backpack.

Anyone who may have picked her up or seen her is asked to contact Detective Phil McDonnell at Christchurch Police.
