A Christchurch man named Jim will pay $26,000 to push the button on the country's first building implosion. The TradeMe auction for Radio Network building implosion has closed, with the winning bidder nicknamed 'demo man 3', winning with the top bid. It attracted 113 bids overall. All the proceeds will go towards the refitting of the Issac Theatre Royal in Christchurch. TradeMe says it will still need to verify the auction winner, but he will be the star of the show when the implosion gets underway at 8am this Sunday. |
