Name suppression has been continued for the Somali man who was shot by police after allegedly going on a stabbing spree in Christchurch. The 27 year old is currently residing at Hillmorton Hospital and was not in court when his case was called in the District Court this morning. He's facing five charges including attempted murder and kidnapping The incident began at Redwood Primary school and finished in Hoon Hay with two people stabbed and the accused shot twice by police. At this morning's appearance, his lawyer Allister Davis argued for continued name suppression until a post-committal hearing scheduled for next month. Photo: NZ Herald |
