Five schools in the Christchurch suburb of Aranui will find out today what Education Minister Hekia Parata has planned for them.
Aranui High, Chisnallwood Intermediate, Avondale Primary, Aranui Primary and Wainoni Schools will hear whether they will merge into the ministry's proposed 'Super School.'
Ms Parata's original plan was for the schools to close and a new year one to 13 super-school built in the suburb.
Ministry of Education staff will be visiting each school at the same time to deliver the news of the minister's interim decision.
The announcement will be mad to the schools at 1.30pm, with most then planning a meeting to brief staff, students and the community from 2pm.
Principals and board members will then meet with the minister.
