New CBD planning to begin with 'anchor projects'

| Latest Christchurch News | Monday May 14 2012 5:40

The new consortium charged with the task of drawing up a new Christchurch CBD will kick off their first full week of work by focusing on the city's 'anchor projects'.

Christchurch Central Development Unit director Warwick Isaacs says there'll be discussions with a range of stakeholders.

"They'll start engaging with people who have particular interests in any of the anchor projects or whether that's people on blocks of land that we might be interested in, through to the city council around how they devise some of their concepts with anchor plans."

Mr Isaacs says a representative from Waterfront Auckland has also been seconded to help the unit integrate the blueprint into the Christchurch City Council's draft central city plan.
