Christchurch road shut after fatal road smash

One of the main thoroughfares on Mount Pleasant into Christchurch city remains closed after a fatality earlier this morning.

One person has died after a single vehicle crash on Main Road just after 3am.

Police are still at the scene and the road is blocked off to all traffic.
