Maori anti-violence workers are looking to upskill at a hui in Christchurch over the next couple of days. The hui for South Island practitioners working with Maori victims and perpetrators of domestic violence is the first of its kind. National Network of Stopping Violence spokeswoman Parekotuku Moore says any opportunity for workers to get together to critique, analyse and affirm their work, can help to reduce violence. "If you're able to equip good workers with further knowledge and further practical tools and support, such opportunities can only add to a better skilled work force." |
