One pedestrian hit by car stable in hospital

The pedestrian who was hit by a car in Canterbury last night is in a stable condition in Christchurch Hospital.

Another person died when a group of people were hit in Hornby.

The incident happened around 11pm, when two cars were seen travelling in the same direction on Shands Road.

Police are calling for the drivers and passengers from both to come forward.

They say one car will have extensive damage at the front.
