3.8 quake in Chch tonight

An earthquake in Canterbury tonight measured 3.8 on the Richter scale.

It was felt at 8.05pm, located 20 km northeast of Christchurch, at a depth of 11 km.

The other shake recorded today was at 2.58am and registered three on the Richter scale.

It was 10 km east of Chistchurch, at a depth of 10 km.
