Thick fog covers Auckland

Despite a thick blanket of fog covering Auckland today, most flights in and out of the airport are still going ahead.

The fog has lifted enough for aircraft without low visibility procedure equipment to start taking off and landing.

Jet aircraft have the system so have been unaffected this morning.

At last count, 34 flights were either cancelled or delayed this morning.
