High residential property sales in Auckland are reducing the choice for buyers. Barfoot and Thompson sold 998 properties last month for an average sale price of more than $591,000. Managing director Peter Thompson says for July this number of sales is at the very top end of the scale in recent years. He says at the end of the month they only had 3975 properties left on the books, which is the lowest number since late 2005. "What we're seeing at the moment is our stock is diminishing yet we're still listing a large number of properties, but there's plenty of buyers out on the market at the moment looking to buy property."
