The names of two people killed in a road accident south of Auckland last week have been released.
They died last Thursday at the intersection of Kingseat and Glenbrook Roads in Kingseat.
Thirty-eight-year-old Garry Smith was travelling south on Kingseat Road when he failed to stop at the crossroads and collided with a vehicle travelling west.
The 38-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
The sole occupant in the second vehicle was Janice Knox.
The 67-year-old suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to Auckland City Hospital, where she died later that night.
Police are urging drivers to take care on the roads, especially around intersections.
