Tongan princess marries 'commoner' in Auckland

The wedding for one of two Tongan princesses who have left the royal family in disarray for opting to marry commoners, is getting underway about now in Auckland.

Princess Frederica Tuita, who is 10th in line to the throne, is marrying Johnny Filipe, who is the son of a businessman.

The service is taking place at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell.

Her older sister Princess Salote Lupepau'u Tuita, who is sixth in line to the throne, will marry a former rugby player later this month.
