Navy joins search for missing paddle boarder

| Latest Auckland News | Friday August 31 2012 11:29

The Navy has joined the search for a paddle boarder missing off Auckland's Takapuna Beach.

The man, who's in his 50s, was last seen heading into the water on Wednesday afternoon.

His paddle board was later found by the crew of the police launch Deodar.

The Navy will use their advanced sonar equipment to carry out a grid search of an area of sea.

The Police Dive Squad is also expected at Takapuna Beach around midday.
