SPCA's 'Blessing of the Animals' being held today

By: Jacqui Stanford | Latest Auckland News | Sunday October 14 2012 7:24

Auckland's SPCA holds its annual Blessing of the Animals service this afternoon.

Just before it begins at 12.15pm, animals and their owners will parade from Auckland Domain to Parnell's Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, weather permitting.

The SPCA's Bob Kerridge says all creatures great and small are welcome, but the â greatâ ones need to be on a lead and â smallâ ones should be in carry cases.

"Pandemonium is planned there's no question about that. Our animal blessing service is always so much fun and it certainly will be again this year."

Mr Kerridge says plastic bags are also essential for removing any accidents.
