The winners in the Auckland marathon have crossed the finish line.
Rowan Walker of Australia came in first with a finishing time of 2 hours 24 seconds. Second place was Scott Winton who takes the New Zealand title with 2 hours 29 seconds, and Tony Payne coming in third with 2 hours 31 seconds.
Road closures are still in place as thousands continue to pound the streets.
Two lanes of the Auckland Harbour Bridge have been coned off - along with a stretch of motorway and several on and off ramps.
Numerous North Shore and central city roads are also be closed, including Tamaki Drive.
Organiser Scott Newman says thousands are taking part.
"A total of about 16,500, about 3000 in the marathon, 8000 in the half marathon, and the others through the quarter marathon and the five k."
The full marathon started at 6.10AM in Devonport and all the events finish at Victoria Park.
