Auckland's electric trains ahead of schedule

By: Annabel Reid | Latest Auckland News | Thursday October 4 2012 7:16

Production's running ahead of schedule but Aucklanders have a while to wait before the new electric trains pull into station.

The trains are being built in Spain with the first arriving in Auckland in August.

All 57 trains will be handed over to Auckland Transport by the middle of 2015.

In the meantime KiwiRail's on target to have the necessary electrification infrastructure in place before the new trains arrive.
