Auckland Zoo sees record visitor numbers

A record number of visitors have passed through Auckland Zoo.

It has enjoyed its busiest year ever, drawing over 710,000 visitors in the year to the end of June.

Auckland Zoo director Jonathan Wilcken says the opening of the New Zealand precinct, Te Wao Nui, has been a major draw card.
