Witness wanted to elderly person being hit by car

By: Anna Cross | Latest Auckland News | Thursday August 9 2012 17:05

Police want to speak to a truck driver who may have witnessed an elderly pedestrian being hit by a car in the Auckland suburb of Mt Wellington.

The 86-year-old woman died in hospital last night after being hit by a red Toyota vehicle around 1.30pm yesterday afternoon opposite the Penrose Road entrance to Countdown.

Police want to speak to the driver of a truck which was stopped in the right hand lane heading east towards the Mt Wellington Highway, as the woman walked in front of the truck just before being hit by the other vehicle.
