Voting begins for Auckland Electricity Consumers Trust

By: Natasha Burling | Latest Auckland News | Wednesday October 10 2012 7:26

It's got to be the election that attracts the least interest in the country.

Voting papers are being sent out today for the Auckland Electricity Consumers Trust.

Just 19 percent of voters bothered to cast a ballot in 2009.

Citizens and Ratepayers holds all five seats on the trust and are promising to continue with a $320 a year payout.

Opponents 'Your Power Team' wants to cut the payments and is accusing trustees of being arrogant, unaccountable and careless with shareholder money.
